OMG.... I think I could hear the little dollies and the pixies calling to me even before I got out of my car the day I visited Laurie AKA Magpie Ethel at her darling studio.
A kewpie greets you even before you take a step inside.
The tiny cottage studio is packed to the rafters and explodes with color, whimsy, and sweet reminders of every holiday. There was even a bench to rest and take it all in.
I loved this mobile of sorts made of vintage Christmas bells that Laurie collects.
There were boxes and baskets of dolls everywhere just waiting to be "magpied".
... and bins of glitter and sequins and tinsel oh my!
Doesn't this gal look a bit mischievous?
Look at her stash of vintage wrapping paper.
I loved the colorful crepe paper garlands and lanterns collection. I thought they looked so pretty in her studio.
I could tell from the assortment in Laurie's studio that she was a "saver" of stuff, a girl after my own heart. I read somewhere that it is not hoarding if it is well organized. I bet she knows where it all is too.
I loved the pixies.
Sweet little smiling faces were everywhere in the studio.
The jars of spun heads were like jars of jaw breakers in a candy shop - just amazing to me.
Every time I see a chain garland like this it takes me back to kindergarten and puts an instant smile on my face. This one was made from chenille stems.
So much cuteness I can hardly stand it!
Thanks so much Laurie for the tour. Your studio brought me true giggles and joy and it was a truly a pleasure meeting you in person. You are a delight and an inspiration to me.
